vince, The Rt honble the Lord Propry of this Province hath

thought fitt to dissolve this present Generall Assembly, and
doth by this his Proclamation dissolve the same accordingly,
and the members as well of the Upper house as the delegates
of the Lower house are hereby discharged from their meete-
ing on the said Tenth day of October.
And his Ldspp is pleased to make knowne to all the good
People of this Province that he hath given Directions to his
Chancelor of this Province for the issueing out of writts in due
forme (according to his late Ordinance for the Establishment
of the Two houses of Assembly beareing date the Sixth day
of September last) for the Calling of a new Assembly which
shall beginn and be holden at the City of St Maries on the
Twelfth day of October next.
Given at our City of St Maries under the greate Seale of
this our sd Province of Maryland the Tenth day of July in the
seaventh yeare of our dominion &ca Annoq Dmi. One thou-
sand Six hundred Eighty and Two.

Memdu upon Advice reed in a Letter from Our Agents at
New York his Ldspp Commanded the issueing forth of this foll
order to the severall Collonells or Commanders in Chiefe of
the Militia within the severall and Respective Counties of this
Province (viz.)

Whereas by an Express from our Agents at New York We
have lately received advice that before they could arrive there
some Troopes of the Northern Indians were sett forth from
thence with a designe to visitt these parts, and although they
will endeavour as much as in them lyes and have greate hopes
to prevent the Comeing downe of others which were also
intended hither upon the same Errand, Yett those that are
already sett forth being headed (as wee are advised) chiefly by
Susquehannohs or other Warr Captains as ill affected towards
the English hath given us grounds of Suspition that their
journey hither is upon noe good Accot Wherefore in order
to prevent as much as may be the Effusion of Christian blood,
and to secure aswell as we cann the persons and Estates of the
Inhabitants of this our Province from the Attempts and
assaults of those Indians which may otherwise easily surprise
them, Wee have thought fitt hereby to give you (together
with other the Chiefe Military Commanders in the severall
Counties of this our Province obnoxious to the Incursions of
those Nations of Indians) timely and speedy notice hereof soe
soone as we had well received the same from our Agents,
hereby also willing and requireing you immediately upon
Receipt hereof to take all Diligent and prudent care for the
