Seale his Royall Highfiess's Territory of New York, and to
conclude and confirme a peace with those Indians for
ourselves and all our Neighbouring and ffriend Indians on
both sides the Bay of Chesepeake, by which meanes for
presents and other incident charges thereby accrueing, as also
for the necessary accommodation of yourselves and attendants
in such your negotiation you must of necessity be at some
considerable charge and expences which is most reasonable
should be secured unto you. Wee Doe therefore hereby will
and require as also Authorise and Empower you or either of
you upon your or either of your arriveall into the sd Governmt
or at any time after when you shall think fitt or oportunity
presents, to discourse treate and Contract with any person or
persons Mrchants Traders or others whatsoever there Inhabit-
ing or resideing for any summe or summes Quantity or
Quantityes of Zewamp Wampom Peake or other Indian or
other Comodityes whatsoever to what value soever as may be
absolutely necessary for Defraying the necessary Charges of
your negotiation to be reimbursed again to the person or
persons Creditor or Credito" here in tobacco of the growth
and production of this Province or otherwise, at such rates and
allowances as by you or either of you shall be agreed on,
which shall be by us approoved, confirmed, allowed of, made
good, Satisfied and Discharged punctually in every point as to
rate tyme and place according to such your Contract. In
Confirmation whereof we have hereunto sett and caused to be
affixed our hand and Seale at Armes the fifteenth Day of
May in the Seaventh yeare of our Dominion &ca Annoq

Capt Richd Hill our Agent I gratefully acknowledge, and for
returns present you with the tender of my kind thankes.
Since his arriveall here from your parts I have consulted with
the body of this Province by their Representatives in a generall
Assembly as to our present state and condition in relation to
the Northern Indians, and Communicated to them the con-
tents of your Letter, upon due consideration whereof they
have been encouraged and advised me to repeate our
Addresses unto you by this our second negotiation managed
by the bearers Coll Henry Coursey and Coll Philemon Lloyd
