Then came the Great men of Choptico, Mattawoman, Pro-
munckey, Nangemy, Mattapenny & Pascattaway Indians.
Complaint was made by the Choptico Indians that Qua-
huncks wife had prest from her a Gunn by Capt Slye which is
not returned her
Whereupon it is Ordered that Major Boreman, satisfie her
for the same & that he be allowed Out of the publique three
hundred pounds of tobacco.
Upon Complaint made by Quanawows that her son hath

p. 61 hunted for Mr Sprigg & not satisfied him and that the said
Sprigg hath taken from him six undrest Skinns & three drest
Skins
Ordered that she be paid two Coats and that the said
Sprigg be called to accompt for the same.
Ordered that for every Indian prisoner Enemyes to the
English that these Our ffreind Indians shall take and carry
either to Collonel Whartons or to Mr Rozers they shall be
allowed & paid five Matchcoates for each prisoner.
And for every scalp of haire of any such Indian Enemy to
be delivered as aforesaid three matchcoates for every Scalp of
haire.

Whereas itt is requisite that Ordinaryes be appointed for the
entertaining strangers & passengers travelling either on horse
or on foot within our said Province of Maryland Know ye that
Ordina- we have appointed severall Ordinaryes to be kept as
ries well in the Citty of St Maryes as one att the halfe way
house, & one att newtowne Courthouse, in Charles
County one att the Courthouse, one att the Mill, & one upon
the Race. In Calvert County, foure att the Towne, & one att
John GriggSts. In Ann Arundell County, one att the Court-
house, one att Richard Hills, & one att the red Lyon. Att
locus the Court house in Talbot County one. Att the Court
sigilli house in Kent County one. Att the Court house in
ch: Bal- Cecil Countyone. Att the Court house in Baltemore
temore. County one. At the Court house in Dorchister
