On the back side of the abovesaid Comission, for Kent
County was written thus.
I doe hereby Order that the place for holding your County
Court be in some part of the easterne neck and not upon the
Island as formerly Given under my hand the 2d day of July
1674

Comission then issued to Edward Williams Clerke of Bal-
temore County to be Clerke of Cecill County with like limita-
tion as other Clerkes vt Supra.

Cecilius &c To all the Inhabitants and people of Our said
Province Greeting in Our Lord God everlasting Know yee
that Wee reposeing especiall trust and confidence in the
fidelity integrity and circumspection of Our dearly beloved
Nephew Baker Brooke Esqr Our Survey our Generall of Our
said Province of Maryland have assigned Ordained authorized
and impowered as Wee doe hereby assigne Ordaine authorize
and impower him the said Baker Brooke Once yearely and
every yeare to call a Court of Enquiry and Survey in every
respective County within this Our Province at such time and
in such place in the said severall and respective Countyes as
