The Rt honble the Lord Propry
The honble Philip Calvert Esqr Chancelor Then Present
William Calvert Esqr Secry

Jackanapes an Indian als. Passanucohanse belonging to the
King of Mattawoma Declares that on New Yeares Day last
he was taken prisoner by the Sinniquos from the Matta-
woman ffort, that when they came now lately before the
Zachaia ffort he came with them, that about a Day or two
before they came to the fort they sent out two Canooes in one
tenn Sinniquos and in the other tenn Susquesahannohs and a
Pascattoway Indian whom they had taken prisoner for their
guide with orders to goe downe Pottomock River and soe to
Pottuxen River on purpose to hunt for other Indians whom

p. 202 they suspected might be gotten downe among the English
Plantations in some of the Necks,
this Relation was delivered by the said Indian to Major
Boareman the interpreter who delivered the same to this
board.

Ordered that John Stavely be sent for Thomas Keeling to
appeare before his Lspp and Councill by tenn of the Clock
to morrow morning and bring with him the Maukasins that
were lately found at the lower end of the towne upon take-
ing the Indian prisoners, and now in the custody of John
Woodhouse, ordered also that for the more speedy dispatch
the said John Stavely be empowered to press a horse

You are hereby Authorised and empowered as also willed
and required upon sight hereof to press a horse to goe downe
to the lower end of the towne to the house of Thomas Keete-
ing whom you are to summon to appeare before his Lspp and
Councell to morrow morning by tenn of the Clock, and that
he bring with him the Maucasines lately taken with the Indian
prisoners and now in the custody of John Woodhouse whereof
he is not to faile
Dated the thirtieth Day of June Anno Dmi 1681 :

Then also passed this following ordr concerning writts of
Error in the Assembly viz.

By his Lspp and Councill
Whereas his Ldspp for the dispatch of the publick affaires of
the Province hath thought fitt to conveene the Assembly
