Dominions Seignioryes and authorityes I will at all tymes
preforme maintaine defend and Keepe according to the
vtmost of my Skill and power. I will well and truly according
to my best Skill & power at all times performe Execute and
Excersise the severall and respective Offices of Principall
Secretary and of Publique Notary of and within the said
Province and all and every the Office and Offices Powers &
Authorities Comands Orders & directions relateing to the
said Offices before menconed given and committed or to be
given or committed vnto me by his said Lordshipp or by
Authority Justly and lawfully derived from his said Lopp I will
truly endeavor faithfully and carefully to preserve and Keepe
or cause to be preserved and Kept all the Records of or
belonging to the said Province or his said Lopp wch shall come
into my hands and pperly belong vnto all or any the aforesaid
Office or Offices and to my care and custody so Long as the
same shall by his said Lopp be permitted to remaine in my
custody. I will not wilfully and fraudulently raze deface alter
change or Embeazell or cause or procure to be wilfully or
fraudulently razed, defaced, altered, changed or Embeazelled
the said Records or any of them, I will truly and faithfully
Keepe all & every the Seale and Seales belonging to all or any
the aforesaid Office and Offices or any of them so long as the
same shall be permitted by his said Lopp to remaine in my
Custody and will not directly nor indirectly vse permitt or
suffer the same or any of them to be vsed contrary to my duty
and the trust and trusts reposed in me by his said Lopp Nor
will I directly or indirectly accept of or execute any place Office,
power authority or imployment whatsoever within this Prov-
ince & relateing any wayes to the Goverment of this Province
or of any part thereof or of any the Dominions or Territories
thereto belonging or to be belonging but by from and vnder
his said Lopp his heirs & assignes Lord and Proprietary Lords
and Proprietaryes of this Province or by from or vnder a true
and lawfull Authority derived or to be derived from him them or
some of them vnder his their or some of their hand and seale,
hands and seales and dureing such time and times only as I
shall by him or them or by such authority so derived or to be
derived from him them or some of them as aforesaid to be
lawfully authorized so to doe, I doe also Sweare that at all
tymes and in all cases where I shall Know or apprehend any
attempt, danger wrong or prejudice to be done Suffered or
intended to or against his said Lopp or to the disinheriteing of
his said Lopp or to the decreaseing diminishing or prejudice of
his Powers Prerogatives Jurisdictions Rights & Revenues or
Benefitts or any of them I will doe all my power and apply
my Skill industry interest and diligence to let hinder prevent
