to their guide the King of the Mattawomans, and intend by
presents to endeavour to draw the Pascattoways with them,
but if they cannot to destroy them where they light of them,
also he informes me that the reason why the Sinniquos did
not come to treate with your Lspp as was Desired is because
they have recd: an affront from the Christians but where at
present he does not understand but supposes it to be on the
Easterne Shore, Also humbly does conceive this may be a fitt
oportunity for your Lspp to treate with those Northern Indians
at the Pascattoway ffort in Zachaiah Swamp where they are
intended within a very short time, this Information he reed:

A Letter from Coll Chandler viz.
June the 15th Day 1681.
May it please your Lspp:
This Day came Major Boareman to my house and informed
me that about One hour by Sunn there was an Indian came
to his house and told him that the Sinniquos is come to
Zachajack ffort and have taken some Prisoners that was with-
out the ffort, but have made noe assault as yett upon the ffort,
and they sent one of the Indians that they had taken formerly
which is a Pascattoway Indian to informe them that they
Desired to treate with some of the greate men of the English,
and that there is a party of the Sinniquos gone down to Chop-
tico to secure the Choptico Indians, this being all at present I
Remaine Your Lspps most humble Servant
