Lib. R, anything else that may be worth your Lspps notice. I am now
in readiness with your Lspps Troope to secure the upper parts
of our County where I mostly apprehend any Danger and am
now on my March, and intend to continue rangeing till such
time I heare from your Lspp: I have sent on purpose this Mes-
senger to give yor Lspp: Accot of my proceedings, When Owen
Newen returnes shall be able to give your Lspp a further
Accot of the state of our Neighbouring Indians. I feare not-
withstanding the Deteyneing of our Indians they and the
forreigne Indians are agreed, I begg your Lspps pardon in
what may be amiss in my bad writeing, being in greate haste

absolutely Lord & Propry of Maryland
humbly Present
haste post haste for the Lord Propry and Countreys imme-
diate service Rando Brandt

his Lspp acquaints the board that he had by an express the
last night sent orders to Captn Brandt that (if at any time he
mett again with the Sinniquas he should endeavour to treate
with them and promise them a provision of Come and meate
for their necessary Supplyes. wch was approoved of by the
board and confirmed by this following ordr of Councill viz.

By the Lord Propry & Councill
Maryland ss.
Whereas his Lspp: hath been given to understand that a
considerable Body of the Sinniquo Indians have lately
appeared before the Pascattoway ffort at Zachaiah in Charles
County and are still in those parts, and whereas his Lspp hath
Declared in Councill his greate Desire to speake and treate
with the said Indians in order to the ratifyeing and confirme-
ing the league made with them at ffort Albany by Coll Henry
Coursey Authorised by his Lspp for the Inhabitants of this his
Province, his Majesties Subjects of the Collony of Virginia,
and the neighbouring and ffriend Indians of this Province, and
haveing consulted his Councill thereupon It is by and with
their advice and consent hereby Ordered.
That Capt Randolph Brandt of Charles keepe rangeing with
his Troope in such places of the said County where he shall
think most proper to meete with the said Sinniquo Indians,
and endeavour to speake with them and Desire them to '
admitt of a Conference with some of their greate men and
some Authorised from his Lspp of this Province, whereof when
it shall be effected he is forthwith to give notice to Coll
