Then read to this board the following Letter from the
Commissioners of Kent County to his Lspp with the Draught
of a Conveyance of a Court house in the said County to his
Lspp for the Countys vse wch also is hereafter entred.
Kent July the 13th 1680:
May it please your Lspp:
We the Justices of this County Court haveing had the
peruseall of a Letter from your Lspp directed to Major James
Ringold Dated the sixth day of Aprill last past, wherein your
Lspp hath signified that the Court house and Prison of this
County ought to be conveyed to your Lspp for the vse and
benefitt of this County, in complyance of which we doe humbly
present unto your Lspp: The coppy of a Conveyance drawne by
the expertest Councill we could procure, which if your Lspp
shall think it not a sufficient Conveyance we humbly Desire
your Lspp would be pleased to order one of your Clerks to
send up a Conveyance wch your Lspp shall approve off which
shall be willingly and readily Signed and performed by

This Indenture made the Day of in the yeare of
our Lord Christ 1680: and in the ffifth yeare of the Dominion
of Charles absolute Lord and Propry of the Province of Mary-
land and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &ca Betweene
James Ringold of Kent County in the Province of Maryland
gentl of the one part and the said Rt honble Charles Lord
Baltemore of the other part Witnesseth that the said James
Ringold for the considerations herein after mentioned, Hath
Given granted Enffeofed and confirmed, and by these presents
doth fully freely and absolutely give grant Enffeofe and con-
firm unto the said Charles Lord Baltemore his heyres and
Successors for Ever all that building or structure lately erected
by his Lspps Justices of Kent County aforesaid (together with
the consent and approbation of the Inhabitants of Kent
County aforesaid) being built onely for a Court house or
house of Judicature for the said County and to or for noe
other use intent or purpose whatsoever, together with a
prison house or commone Gaole neere adjoyneing being also
