The humble Petition of firancis Catterson of the City of St
Maries Inholder
Sheweth
That your Petitioner being a young man and newly settled
in the world cannot suddenly purchase such a considerable
Quantity of houshold goods or soe large a stock as may be
expected from those who have managed the same employmt
many yeares
That for the time your Petr hath kept an ordinary he hath
given entertainemt to people according to his beds vizt tenn
in number, & has been at more then ordinary charges, and
incurred many Debts to effect the same.
That your Petr is still willing to give entertainemt to the
utmost of his power, and shall very speedily be furnished with
provision and liquors Sufficient for the next Court, all which
may turne to his utter ruine and Destruction, should your
Lib R.
Petitioner noe longer continue in the said Employmt or be
forced to procure security to perform the strictness of the Act
in such cases made and provided.
Your Petitioner therefore humbly prayes that your Lspp
would be graciously pleased to grant him a lycense for the
year ensueing and accept of his owne Bond for the perform-
ance of his Duty in the said Employmt
And your Petr shall pray &c.

If the petitioner will produce Security according to the
former ordr of this board concerning Ordinary keepers he
may have lycense granted him according to his prayer other-
wise this board will not receed from their sd former ordr

By Tho: Deakins a petition viz

To the Rt honble the Lord Propry in Councill
The humble petition of Thomas Deakins Drummer Sheweth
That the petitioner hath given his attendance at the City of
St Maries in beateing the Drumm the last Provinciall Court
and this present Court
That the Petitioner is intended to Depart the Province this
Shipping He therefore humbly prayes that he may be allowed
Satisfaction out of the publick at the Assessing the leavy
And he shall pray &c

Wch was thus underwritt
May 7th 1681:
