lately recd: from Capta Brandt wch was read and is as foll: viz

Your Lspps Commands of the 22th instant shall observe as
relateing to the Lands about Pascattoway.
I have had severall meeteings with the Indians concerning
the last Articles of peace in hopes to have sent yr Lspp a Brev-
iat of thm but cannot find any they have, I have had a sight
of all their Papers but not one tending thereto. The King of
Mattawoman shews me a meddall in token of your Lspps
ffriendshipp to him, he beginns now to be in feare of the Sus-
quehannohs and Sinniquo and prtends want of Armes and
Ammunition, he intends speedily to make his addresses to
your Lspp. I have this Day received Intelligence from Thomas
Baker that the Pascattoway Indians sending their scoutes out
Daily have discovered the Enemy and is in some doubt they
will be fowle of them before their ffort is finished. I have
nothing more to add but the tender of my due Obedience
