Thomas Jones of Bush River in Baltemore County haveing
been rendred unto his Lspp and Councell a Dangerous and
contemptuous pson for dealeing and tradeing with Indians
affording them Supplyes of powder and shott &ca contrary to
Act of Assembly obstinately and peremptorily psisting therein
notwithstanding he hath been otherwise advised & rebuked
both by the Commissrs of the said County and others, The
foll ordr was Directed to the said Commissrs strictly to
examine & enquire into the truth of the matter and upon
due proofe of what is alleadged against him or other just
grounds that they bind him to his good behavior with good
security and to appeare at the next Provll Court to answer the
prmisses and that their pceedings herein they signifie to his
Lspp & Councill with all expedition viz.

By the Lord Propry & Councill

June 29th Whereas Complaint hath been made to his Lspp

agt Thomas Jones of Bush River in Baltemore
County for that he doth frequently trade and Deale with the
Indians without lycense Supplyeing them with powdr shot &ca

p. 142 contrary to the Act of Assembly of this Province in that case
made and Provided, to the greate trouble and disquiett of
others the good People Inhabitants of this Province, He
peremptorily Declareing that he will soe doe notwithstanding
several Admonitions of same to the Contrary and the sevare
checks and threats of complaint from others if he continued
soe Doeing all wch is of Dangerous Consequence wherefore
to prevent the same for the future — Ordered.
That the Commissrs of the said County Court doe forthwith
upon Receipt hereof in the name of the Rtt Honble the Ld
Propry summon before them the said Thomas Jones, and him
strictly examine and make due inquiry into the truth of such
his pceedings, and if upon Examination and such inquiry made
as aforesaid it shall appeare that the said Jones hath accord-
ingly acted as is alleadged against him or otherwise upon good
grounds that the sd Jones hath illegally traded and dealt with
any Indian contrary to Act of Assembly as by the said Com-
plaint hath been sett forth, then they are to bind the said
Jones to his good behavior takeing good security for the
same and for his appeareance at the next Provll Court further
to answer the prmisses. An Exact Accot whereof the sd Com-
