The Embassadors sent to the Sinniquos are returned without
effecting any thing, they alleadge the Inhabitants up the Bay
would not assist them with a passage over — as to other pticu-

Children to Nantecoke for some time and that for severall
reasons then argued wch is resolved to be Signified to the
said Indians in as few words as may be for preventing any
mistakes in the Delivery thereof by the Interpreter Mr John
Stone who is ordered to Communicate the same unto them
in manner following viz.

Ordered that the Emperor of Pascattoway be given to
undrstand ffirst
1: That his Lspp desires nothing more then that he and his
people be Safe from their Enemies.
2: That his Lspp is certain that if all the Choptico Indians
and the Mattawomans were at Pascattoway with the Emperor
they are not able to fight the Sinniquos & Susquehannoghs
who are above One Thousand men
3: That the Virginians will not beleive that the Sinniquos
murd: their people, and doe say that all the murdrs committed
on that side of Pottomack are done by the Pascattoways.
