drink almost if not quite fudled as the Deponent thinkes,
where after they had been some small time Dr Barree told
Rosewell that he was Excommunicated for keepeing Xmas
with Heretickes further saying that there was a troope of one
hundred horse undr Coll. Darnall and Thomas Courtney
ready to cutt of all the Protestants in 3 Daies time, that the
said Barree drew his Knife and whetted upon his Bootes, say-
ing that he hoped with it to cutt some of their throates, that
he would cutt Rosewells throate, that he had scene a list of
the troope in Mrs Hills hands which was Delivered her by Mr
ffoster that Mr Rosewell, Collen Makensie, and one other (wch
the Dept remembers not) were nominated by the said Barree to
be in the said List, that that night the said Barree slept upon
the Chaires as this Dept beleives. The next morning the
Deponent asked the said Barree if he did remember what he
had said over night to wch he answered yes, and called to
Capt Coodes Negro for the Knife wch they had caused to be
taken from him over night, some of the Company repeated
the same words by him spoken over night, all wch said Barree
that morning owned to be true. And further the Dept saith
not.
John Shepard upon Oath Examin. saith that on the 30th
Day of January last little before night he went to Capt Coodes
house where he mett with Dr Barree and some other Com-
pany, whither Barree were drunk or noe he knowes not, but
discourseing with the Company he told them that there was to
be raised a troope of One hundred horse undr the Comand of
Thomas Courtney and Mr Darnall Ltt who were to cutt of all
the Protestants, that Mrs Hill had a List of the Troopers
Names, The Deponent likewise saith that the sd Barree drew
his Penn knife and whetted upon his Bootes, sweareing that
Rosewell should dye by the hands of an Irish man in three
dayes and further this Dept saith not.

Capt Jno Coode, Examined upon oath saith That Dr Barree
and Mr Rosewell on the 30th Day of Decemb. last at night
came to his house, that Dr Barree (as the Dept does beleive)
was fudled, that he perceived there was some difference
betweene Rosewell and him, Barree saying that he was
Excommunicated for keepeing Xmas with Hereticks that there
was a troope of one hundred horse ready to cutt of all the
Protestants in Maryland in three daies time or within three
Daies (whither the Dept knowes not) the Dept asked him who
it was that was to command the Troope, To which Barre
made answer Thorn: Courtney and Coll Darnall the Dept
asked him why Thorn: Courtney ? Barree replied in Latin
ob meliorem expeditionem Domine, the Dept made answer
again what because he is a horse Courser ? Rosewell told
