Conscience did not accuse him, that Mr ffoster had delivered
a List of the Troopers Names to Mrs Hill in whose hands he
the said Barree saw the same, And further the Deponent saith
that the next morning Capt Coode asked the said Barree if he
did remember what he had said the night before, to which
the said Barree (in heareing of his Deponent) replied that he
did very well repeateing the same words or words to the same
effect over again, further adding that this Business had been
made knowne in England, that Mr John Darnall while he was
there being taken for his Brother Coll. Darnall was sum-
moned before the King and Councill, but finding the mistake
he was again dismissed. Severall other words to the same
purpose were at the same time spoken by the said Barree wch
the Deponent cannot now remember and therefore further
saith not.
Neha Blakisson Examined Saith that on the 30th Day of
Decemb: last in the afternoon he went to Capt Coodes
house whither came also ashore from aboard Shipp
Doctor Barree and William Rosewell where falling into dis-
course Dr Barree was very rude and troublesome vseing
severall aggravating words and speeches to all the Company
(and that before they begann to Drink) calling them Rogues
Heretick rogues, withall telling Mr Rosewell that he was
excommunicated for keepeing Xmas with Hereticks, and that
he did not question but they would all be made quiett
Enough that there was a troope of Catholickes ready to
Destroy all the Protestants in the Countrey undr Tho: Court-
ney and Coll Darnall (but wch was to be Chiefe the Deponent
remembers not) more then that Capt Coode discourseing with
the said Barree made answer, Why soe? why Tho: Courtney
before Coll Darnall ? to which Barree replied in Lattin for
expedition sake, Coode makeing this repartee what because
he is a Horse Courser? wch is the summe of what the
Deponent remembers to be said that night; Next Morning
the Deponent taxed Dr Barree with what he had said over
night how he had abused Mr Rosewell to wch Barree made

answer that it was all true Enough, and that Rosewells Con-
science must needs accuse him, as well enough knowing him-
self to be One of the troope; of wch he the said Barree could
procure a List from Mrs Hill, further confirming all that he
had said over night (the company repeateing the same over
to him as neere as they could) and saying that he would Jus-
tine it, And further the Deponent saith not.
John Slye upon oath also examined saith that on the 30th
Day of December last William Rosewell borrowed of Capt
Coode a boate to goe aboard Shipp, and returned a shoare
that night bringing with him Dr James Barree very much in
