or harbour the said ffendall at their perill According to the
foll: Ordr of Councell viz,

By the Lord Propry & Councell.
Maryland ss:
Whereas Capt Josias ffendall of Charles County hath lately
and publickly uttered Divers false & malitious scandalous
Reports agt his Lspp: the Rtt Honble the Lord Propry of this
Province, and hath also uttered severall threats and Menaces,
mutinous & seditious speeches tending greately to the Distur-
bance of the peace and quiett of the said Province as hath
been sufficiently made appeare by the Oathes of severall
psons undr their hands ready to be produced and remaineing
upon Record in the Councell Booke, And whereas the said
ffendall hath refused to appeare before his Lspp: and Councell
to answer the premisses, though thereunto by two severall
Ordrs of Councell strictly charged and Commanded, and hath
thereupon absented himself and Departed from his vsuall
habitation or place of Abode, presumptuously giveing out and
reporting that he will not be taken or apprehended. These
are therefore to will and require as also strictly to Charge &
Comand yu Capt Humphry Warren, of Charles County afore-
said (with such and soe many persons as you shall think fitt to
take with you for yor necessary aid and Assistance) to make
all Diligent search for the said ffendall throughout all the
parts of yor said County, And him (wheresoever he shall be
found) forthwith to apprehend and Safely to convey to his sd
Lspp: or some of his Councell, To the End that he may receive
his Due tryall and condigne punishmt for and Concerning the
premisses. And you are likewise hereby strictly charged and
Comanded to give Due notice to all the Inhabitants of yor
said County hereof, Willing & requireing them not to harbor

or entertain the said ffendal in their or either of their house

or houses plantations or other Tenemts whatsoever at their
perill but that they vse the utmost of their skill power and
endeavor to apprehend the said ffendall wheresoever he shall
be found, And all and Singular his Lspps: Officers civill and
military within yor said County and others the Inhabitants
thereof, or tradeing passeing or resideing there are hereby
strictly charged & Comanded to aid and assist you the sd
Capt Warren to the utmost of their skill power and endeavor
to apprehend the said ffendall by such waies and meanes as you
in yor Discretion shall Deeme fitt and convenient to ordr and
Direct for yor speedier & better executeing of this Precept,
and him soe apprehended safely to convey or cause to be
conveyed to his sd Lspp: or some of his Councell as aforesaid.
