The Taxing of Costs in the Respective causes that came
to a period the last Provincial Court was referred unto this
day, but his Excellency & Councill have thought fit to referre
the same, untill the next Councill day which is to be the 25th
of this instant January.
John Blomfeild that marryed the widdow of Luke Barbor
gentl deceased being ordered this day to attend his Excel-
lency & Councill with the writings belonging to the said
barbors Estate, who accordingly this day appeared, and sur-
rendred the said writings up to his Excellency & Councill,
who Delivered the same into the hands of the Clerke of the
Councill, and ordered him to Keepe them in his hands untill
the next Councill day at which time they will take further
order in the prmises.

Whereas I am informed by Robert Ridgely Deputy to
Sr Willm Talbot Baronett Principall Secretary of Maryland
that Robert Ellis a Covenant Servant to the said Sr Willm
Talbot (and by the said Sr Willm left under the said Ridgleys
Comand as an under Clerke in the office) hath sevrall
tymes prsumed to absent himselfe from the said Ridgelyes
Employmt in the Secretaryes office without so much as asking
leave of the said Ridgely and is now at this tyme absent and
as the said Ridgely is informed is gone up to Newtowne or

thereabouts without any leave or Lycence from the said
Ridgely And whearas it is Consonant to Reason that Sr
Willm Talbot wholly Instrusting the said Ridgely in the said
office, he is to be Accomptable for all transaccons therein, and
to see the Publique bussines dispatched, I doe therefore
hereby Order and Authorize the said Ridgely, if the said Ellis
shall at any tyme absent himselfe hereafter from the said
Employmt without leave from the said Ridgely To send a
Hue & Cry after him as after a Run Away servant, and if he
shall Refuse to obey the Lawfull Commands of the said
Ridgely, then the said Ridgely to torne him out and hyre
such other pson in his place as to him shall seeme meete,
