Lib. R. R. At a meeting of his Excellency and Councill at the City of
St Maryes the 13th day of December 1671
Present
His Excellency Charles Calvert Esqr Capt Generall & Chief
Governor of Maryland
The honble Philip Calvert Esqr Chancelour

the honble William Calvert and
The honble Edward ffitzharbert Esqrs

Was then read by Robert Ridgely Clerke of the Councill
the foregoing Three Comissions and Instruccons for his Excel-
lency & Instruccons for his Excellency and Councill, and the
same Examined by his Excellency & Councill.
James Lewis brought by the Sheriff of St Maryes County
before his Excellency & Councill by virtu of the honoble the
Chancelors warrant, for speaking mutinous and seditious
words. Ordered that the said Lewis be bound over to the
Provinciall Court to answere the same.

p. 14 At a meeting of his Excellency and Council at the Citty of
St Maryes the 4th day of January 1671

The honoble J Baker Brooke and
Edward ffitherbert Esqr
The last will and Testament of William Hattoft deceased
being Exhibited to his Excellency & Councill, desiring their
order about the same.
Ordered that Letters Testamentary be thereupon issued
according to usuall forme out of the Secretaryes office in the
name of Edward ffitzherbert Esqr & Caleb Baker the Exe-
cutors therein named, they giving security according to usuall
forme in One hundred Thowsand pounds of Tobacco, to
indemnify the Judge for probate of wills &c.

Robert Hawkins brother of John Hawkins deceased coming
over into this Country, made his Claime to his said Brothers
Estate as heire, and desired the Lres of Adcon upon the said
Estate comitted to one John Damrell might be quashed.
Ordered by the board that a Citation be issued out of
the Secretaryes office retornable the 13th day of ffebruary next
directed to the said Damrell, thereby comanding him to
appeare before his Excellency & Councill and show cause if
any he have why the said Lres of Admcon to him graunted
upon the said Hawkins Estate should not be Vacated upon
Record.
