their affaires accordingly and wee doe hereby order and

Comand our Respective Sheriffs of Our severall Countys, that
they upon sight of this Our Proclamacon Immediatly Publish
and Proclaime the same, and give their Respective Deputys
and Deligates of their severall Countys particular notice of
Our will and pleasure herein. Given att St Maryes undr the
Great Seale of our Province of Maryland Wittnes our selfe
att our Citty of St Maryes the ffourteenth day of ffebruary in
the third yeare of our Dominion Over Maryland Annoq Domi
1677.

Charles absolute Lord & Propry of the Provinces of Mary-
land & Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c To our right
trusty and right welbeloved Uncle & Councellor Philip Calvert
Esqr our Chancelour of our Province of Maryland greeting
Whereas you have given us to understand that you have
sundry & divers matters & causes, which, for the nature &
quality of them doe require proces out of & hearing & deter-
minacon in our high Court of Chancery within our Province
of Maryland And that you have severall Originall writts to
sue out of our said Court of Chancery for divers matters &
causes determinable att comon Lawe And in reguard you
have the custody of our great Seale of our said Province of
Maryland And that itt is & every hath been unusuall & unac-
customary for the keeper of our great Seale of said Province
of Maryland to Seale any writts of scire facias Subpenas or
locus any other proces out of our high Court of Chancery
sigilli in his the said keeper of the Seale own suite or cause,
Thoma without especiall lycence & warrant from us or our
Motley Lievt genll of our said Province for the tyme being
first had & obtained. Wee willing that you should have &
enjoy the same right Law & priviledge in all our Courts
within our said Province of Maryland in equality with all the
rest of our good & loveing Subjects of our said Province
And that you be in no manner precluded from the benifitt of
our Lawes in Courts of Law or Equity within our said Prov-
ince by meanes or occasion of your being keeper of our great
Seale & Chancelor of our said Province Wee doe therefore
hereby authorize & impower you the said Philip Calvert Chan-
celor of our said Province of Maryland & you are here by fully &
absolutely i mpowered & Authorized to Seale with the great Seale
of our said Province of Maryland all such writt or writts of scire
facias Subpena or any other writts or proces whatsoever out
of our high Court of Chancery which from tyme to tyme for
the tyme of yor being our Chancelour or keeper of our great
