158 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1676-1678.
Lib. R. R. may not require the actuall sitting of our said Genll Assembly
att the precise tyme unto which they were so prorogued wee
have resolved wholy to remitt the determinacon of that
important affaire unto you in whose fidelity care prudence &
good conduct we finde our selves to have all imaginable
reason to confide Wherefore we doe hereby give & grant
unto you our said Lievt genll & chiefe Governour full power
& absolute authority for us & in our name either by our
Proclamacon to be by yor order for that purpose by authority
of these prsents issued forth in due tyme to prorogue our said
Genll Assembly to such further day & tyme as you shall judge
convenient without giveing them the trouble to meet att the
tyme to which the same att prsent stands Prorogued, or else to
permitt our said Genll Assembly to meet att the tyme to which
the same att prsent stands Prorogued, & then in our name to
Prorogue the same to such farther day as you in yor discretion
shall thinke fitting without makeing any session att such their
meeting or lastly to permitt our said Genll Assembly to meet
& sitt att the tyme to which the same att prsent stands Pro-
rogued, & then either by makeing a Session or without make-
ing a Session to to Prorogue the same in our name to such
farther day & tyme & from tyme to tyme as you in yor discre-
tion shall judge most conducing to our service & the good &
benifitt of our said Province And in case itt shall happen that
you our said Lievt shall thinke itt fitting to permitt our said
Genll Assembly to sitt att any tyme or tymes in our absence so
as to make one or more session or sessions by passing of any Act
or Acts in our absence Wee doe hereby farther give & grant
p. 129 unto you full power & authority for us & in our name to give
our assent unto any such Act or Acts as you in yor discretion
shall thinke fitting to passe into Lawes in such manner as to
passe the same into Lawes & to make the same have the force
of Lawes within our said Province untill we our heyres or
Successors shall publish our or their disassent unto the same
Given under our hand & our lesser Seale att Armes the Eighth
day of November in the second yeare of our Dominion over
our said Province And in the yeare of our Lord Christ 1677

written
To our right trusty & right welbeloved Councelour Thomas
Notley Esqr our Lievt genll & chiefe Governour of our Prov-
