4: You are to insist positively upon the Delivery of Kra-
wacom a Gascoway Indian, one of the murdrers & Subject to
the Emperor and of the rest if to be found or any waies to be
discovered take not the first deniall for an answer but by the
Piscattoway & Western Shore Indians (if the Eastern Shore
Kings will not) press the Dangers & Mischiefe of a Warr,
and see if you can pcure a second or third treaty in as many
daies successively, but give them noe cause to think we feare
them but in all things by yr Excelcys guards & sending for
more men and pvisions lett them see yu seriously intend warr

in and live undr our Protection, assuring them that we desire
nothing but their prservation from being killed by our men

to hunt Our Indian Enemys out of the Swamps, wch Indians
have noe peace wth them unless we include them in the numb.

7: In all this treaty wth the Emperor of Nanticoke, & the
other treatys wth the Indian Kings in Choptank, and the
Emperor of Assateague, you are to joine wth Coll Henry
Coursey, Mr Christopher Rousby Coll Wm Colebourne, Mr
Wm Stevens & Mr John White, and with their or any two of
their advice & Consent to determine of what shall be pro-
pounded to them, and what answers shall be given to such
propositions as they shall make to yu and the sd Coll. Coursey,
Christopher Rousby, Coll: Colebourne, Wm Stevens, and John
White, that soe matters of this weight may be duely Consid-
ered, and the peace of the Province Secured, if with any Tol-
erable Tearmes of Honor it may be Contrived.
8: You are to endeavor to engage Hatsawap, Ababco,
Teinguassino, & Amoungus to goe as Mediator betweene you
and Unnacakossimon, in case he will not come psonally to
treate wth you, if all will not goe procure some and if none of
them will goe, then Engage the ffaithfuller of our Western
Shore Indians.
9: In case Warr be pclaimed, & that Coll: Coursey, Mr
Christopher Rousby Coll: Colebourne, Mr Wm Stevens, & Mr
John White or any two of them cannot attend the Service,
you are to choose a Councell out of yor owne officers, and by
the advice of them or the major pt of them to govern yor Self
in the managemt of this warre.
10: You are from time to time to see yor Souldiers well
provided with Armes, Ammunition and pvisions, and to that
