to Leavy Muster & trayne all sorts of men of what Condition
or wheresoever borne in our said Province & Dominions for
the tyme being or remaining And in case of Insurrections
Assaults or Approaching of any Enemy or Enemyes Pyrate
or Pyrates or other Robbers to make Warr & to persue such
Enemy or Enemyes Pyrates or Robbers as well by Sea as land
And to Vanquish & take them And being so taken to putt
them or any of them to death by the Law of Warr, or to save
them or any of them att his pleasure And to doe all & every
thing & things which unto the Charge & Office of a Captaine
Generall of an Army or Admirall of a ffleet belongeth And
likewise in case of any Rebellion Tumult or sedition either
upon the land within our said Province & Dominions or upon
the Seas to Exercise Martiall Lawes against all Rebellious
mutinous or seditious persons of those parts who shall refuse
to submitt themselves to our Government, or to serve in the
Warrs, or shall fly to the Enemy or forsake their Ensignes, or
be Loyterers or Straglers or otherwise howsoever offending
against the Law Custome or Discipline Military as freely & in

as ample manner & forme as any Capt Genll of an Army or
Admirall of a Navy by vertue of his Office might or hath
accustomed to use the same And farther wee doe Give &
Grant unto the said Thomas Notley full power & Authority
dureing the tyme of his Exercise of the said Office before
menconed for us & in our names as often as he shall thinke
fitting from tyme to tyme to pardon remitt or release whether
before Judgement or after All & all manner of Criminall
Offences against the Lawes of our said Province & Dominions
or any of them And also all & all manner of paines penaltyes
& fforfeitures incurred or to be incurred by any person or per-
sons Body or Bodyes Politique or Corporate within our said
Province & Dominions or any of them for or by reason of any
Crime or Crimes Offence or Offences comitted or to be
comitted against any the Lawes Ordinances or Orders of our
said Province heretofore made or hereafter to be made what-
soever or howsoever as fully & amply to all intents Construc-
tions and purposes as wee our selfe might doe if wee were
then & there personally prsent to doe the same And also for
us & in our name & as often as he shall finde itt necessary
from tyme to tyme to call Assemble & Summon any Generall
Assembly or Genll Assemblyes of the ffreemen of our said
Province or of their Deputyes or Delegates of the ffreemen
of our said Province for the giveing of the advice Assent &
Approbacon of the ffreemen of our said Province or of the
Deputyes or Delegates of the ffreemen of our said Province to
such Lawes & Acts as shall be by us att any tyme Ordayned
made & Enacted & under our Seale published, & unto which
