p. 113 Ch. Baltemore
Charles Absolute Lord & Propry of the Provinces of Mary-
land & Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &ca To all to whom
these prsents shall come Greeting Know ye that wee in Con-
sideracon of the Speciall trust & Confidence which wee have
in the great Prudence care conduct & fidelity of our trusty &
wellbeloved Thomas Notley of St Maryes in our said Province
of Maryland Esqr Have given & granted And wee doe by
these prsents Give & Grant unto the said Thomas Notley the
Office of Lievtenant Generall Cheife Captaine Cheife Governor
& Comander & Cheife Admirall both by Sea & land of our
said Province of Maryland in the parts of America And of all
our Islands Territoryes & Dominions whatsoever in any the
parts of America thereunto belonging And of all & singuler
our Castles fforts ffortresses ffortifications Munitions Shipps
& Navies in our said Province of Maryland & in our said
Islands Territoryes & Dominions aforesaid And also the Cus-
tody & Cheife Government & Comand of our said Province
of Maryland & of our Islands Territoryes and Dominions
aforesaid And of all & singuler the Castles fforts ffortresses
ffortifications Munitions Shipps & Navyes within our said
Province Islands Territoryes & Dominions aforesaid being &
remaining or to be & remayne & to us in any wise belonging
or apperteineing Together with all & singuler the rights privi-
ledges Jurisdictions Comodityes Advantages & Emoluments
whatsoever to the said Office & Governmt or either of them
any wise belonging or apperteyning And him the said Thomas
Notley wee doe make ordeyne & Constitute Lievt Generall
Cheife Captaine & Chiefe Admirall both by Sea & land
p. 114 Cheife Governor & Comander of our said Province of Mary-
land & of our said Islands Territoryes & Dominions And of
all the Castles fforts Navyes Shipps places & things aforesaid
by these prsents To have hold Occupy Enjoy & Exercise the
said Office of Lievtenant Generall Cheife Captaine & Cheife
Admirall Cheife Governour & Cheife Comander aforesaid
with the Appurtennces unto the said Thomas Notley by him-
selfe or by his Sufficient Deputy or Deputyes by him in his
absence to be Appointed dureing our pleasure And wee like-
wise for the Consideracons aforesaid doe Give & Grant unto
the said Thomas Notley full power & authority dureing the
tyme of his Exercise of the said Office before menconed by
himselfe & his Captaines & Officers by him to be Appoynted
