A Proclamacon

Whereas Ensigne Wm Davis Giles Hasleham & John Pate
with divers others, Inhabitants upon or neere the Cliftes in
Calvert County have contrived a mutinous & seditious paper
tending to the subversion of the Govermnt of this Province
under the Right Honble the Lord Proprietary & destruction of
the Peace of the People. And the same with force & terror
of Armes have Published att the head of the Company
Comanded by Major Henry Jowles, threatning the said Major
with their Gunns cocked & prsented These are therefore in
the name of the Right Honble the Lord Proprietary to Will &
Comand all Officers Millitary & Civill & all House-Keepers
& other the good People of this Province to Apprehend the
said Ensigne Wm Davis Giles Hasleham & John Pate & them
Safely to bring to the Garrison att Mattapany Sewall there to
be kept in safe Custody, strictly Charging & Comanding all
house keepers & all other the good People of this Province
not to harbour comfort aid or Assist the said Davis Hasleham
& Pate or any of them as they will Answer the contrary att
their uttmost perills And forasmuch as many well meaning
People of this Province may have been seduced by the said
Davis Hasleham & Pate to Joyne with them in the Publicacon
of the said paper Itt is hereby Declared Published & Pro-
claimed that the Governmt will not take notice of that Crime
in any other person then the said Davis Hasleham & Pate
Provided they render themselves to the Deputy Lievtent or
some one of his Lordshipps Councell for this Province within
foureteene dayes, & shall discover the Councellors Contrivers
& writers of the said paper Given att the Citty of St Maryes
under the great Seale of this Province of Maryland this first
