Copy of Letter No 41 was sent to William Lux and others,
Copy of No 42 to Capt. George Cook, Copy of No 43 to Robert
Cummins, Copy of No 44 to Messrs Willing and Morris, and
Copy of No 45 to the Delegates in Congress.
Commissions issued to Nicholas Ruxton Moore appointed
first Lieutenant and Richard Dorsey second Lieutenant of
Captain Nathaniel Smith's Company of Matrosses.
Instructions and sailing Orders were given to John Gibbons
of the Schooner Friendship.
Adjourned till next Day, 10 o'clock.

[Council to Baltimore Committee.]

Gentlemen, Capt. Furnival informs us that some prepara-
tions have been made at Whetstone Point for erecting a maga-
zine for securing Ammunition that maybe immediately wanted
in case of an attack, we take it for granted that something
of that sort is necessary, and that the fortification cannot be
considered as compleated without such magazine. You will
therefore take care to have it finished as soon as you conveni-
ently can, before the cold weather comes on to prevent masons
from working.

[Council to J. Hollingsworth.]

Sir. We request the favor of you to bid for the Brigg that
was taken by Capt. Cooke and buy her for the State at all
events; also to take care and purchase the rum or any other
part of the Effects condemned, that may be useful to the
public, and are to be had at a moderate price. Should you
not care to act, be pleased to get some other person to bid.
If the Snow Georgia or any other of the vessels are to be had
upon terms you think reasonable, be so good as to buy them
for us.

Gentlemen. We would send you the commissions you
request, but there has been some change we apprehend in the
Battalion, and some officers are promoted — there may have
deaths or resignations which we know not of; we wish that
Brigadier General Buchanan together with your Committee
would be kind enough to send us down a state of the Bat-
