[N. Bond to Council.]
Gentlemen. Baltimore Octo 18th 1776.
Mr Bailey the Lieutent of Capt Deem's Company intends to
continue in said company and the men of Norwood's Compy
are discharge, but wont go in the other. The men are
stroling about town and if any officer except Capt Deems was
appointed they would Enlist during the war. Captn Deems
tells me he has orders from you to enlist during that time &
if you think proper to appoint me, may take this for an appli-
cation, to enlist for the same time. Excuse haste.

Saturday October 19th 1776.
Council met. Present as on yesterday.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Daniel Fallin
two Pounds, nine shillings and four Pence for Amt Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to John Smoot two
Pounds, six shillings and eight Pence for Amt Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Majr Thos Snowden
one hundred and one Pounds, three shillings and four Pence
for Gun Carriage.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to James
Cheston thirty one Pounds, ten shillings for Amt Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Bennett Ryley one
Pound, twelve shillings for Amt Acct
Commissions issued to Robert Harrison appointed Captain,
William Cole 1st Lt Benjamin Scott 2d Lt and James Steele
Ensign of a Compy in Harford County, raised to compose
Part of the Flying Camp.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Captain
Robt Harriss seventy five Pounds, to be accounted for.
Ordered That Commissary of stores at Annapolis deliver
to Captain Harriss eighty two Priming Wires & Brushes.
The charge against William Bartlet Townsend having been
referred to the consideration of the Council of Safety, by the
Convention — he was thereupon called upon, and attended,
and sundry Depositions against him being read, and several
Witnesses examined, relative to the charge against him,
It was ordered that he be discharged upon his giving Bond
