Saturday September 14th 1776

Council met. Present as on yesterday.
Lambert Purnell of Captn Watkins' Company discharged
and permitted to return to his Home.
Adjourned 'till Monday 10 o'Clock.

Gentelmen. Septembr the 14, 1776
Captain hamond went from hear last tusday In one of the
Revenu Boats to anaplors What he went after I Dont no
he has not ben hear since I have got his Schoner Redy to sail
Bent his sails for him and Evrey thing like I am In want of
sum thin Canvess to mak a Jebb and Squar sail for another
Schoner I have ben tould you have now a large Quanttey
Canviss Plest Send me Down 2 Bolts of the thinest you have
Number 3, 4, 5 or 6 Wee Want fore bolts the horse Cant
Bring more then two Convently
I am Gentelmen your most
obedent Servt Stephen Steward
Plest have my boye Depart

Monday Septr 16th 1776.

Council met. Present as on Saturday.
Permit was granted to Wm Thomas Master of the Sloop
Hazard to go to Martinique & dispose of his Cargo, he having
given Bond, and lodged a manifest against the resolve of Con-
vention.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to CaptnBeriah
Maybury thirteen Pounds, twelve shillings and eight Pence for
Boatage
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Brittingham Dickinson
seven Pounds, eleven shillings & seven Pence for Amt of Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Jonathan Parker five
Pounds, twelve shillings for going Express.
Ordered That Captain Smith be directed to let Job Green
of the Schooner Two Brothers to proceed on his Voyage,
according to Permit heretofore granted.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Jenifer &
Hooe twelve hundred & fifty seven Pounds, four shillings &
one Penny, for Amt of their Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Colo Hooe for use of
Joseph Harison Harrison four hundred and forty Pounds, nine
Shillings & four Pence for Amt of Acct
Barton Tabbs appointed Surgeon Assistant to Doctr Briscoe
of the Seven Independant Companies.
