To Captain Fiddeman
Sir.
As your Lieutenant Mr Downes informs the Council that
the Arms of your Company want a good many Repairs, we
would have you halt at Chester Town until you can get them
done. Mr Winters and Mr Robert Read are employed to
repair Guns for the Province.
5th September 1776.

Sir. This will be handed you by Capt. Watkins whom we
desire you will Supply with what Blankets he wants for his
Company, we request you will if possible get enough for him.

To Thomas Stone Esquire
Sir. This will be delivered to you by Captain Watkins,
whose Company is in a very bad situation for Cloaths, which
cannot be procured on any terms in this Province. We must
therefore beg that you will use your utmost endeavour to pro-
cure them for them at Philadelphia; but if the making of them
up will take up too much time — They may be made up and
sent to Camp.

Baltimore 5th Sep( 1776.
Hond Sirs. As I am just going for Philad8 have thought proper
to advise you that I have ordered my dark Mr Robert Porteus to
settle my accounts with the Province and to pay to Mr Jarred
Hppkins the Ball of what money is in my hands all but twenty
five pounds which I will reserve of the province money in my
hands for small contingent expenses may accrue, as Mr Porteus
