Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Cornelius Mills seven c
Pounds ten shillings, for one months Pay, as Adjutant
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Wm Belwood five
Pounds, for Boat Hire.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Captn Zacha Maccub-
bin seven pounds, seventeen shillings for two musquets &
Bayonets.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Captain Thomas Han-
son one hundred and nineteen Pounds, thirteen shillings &
ten pence for Balance of his Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Hugh Hopewell six
Pounds, for Boatage.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Captn Thos Hammond
one hundred and thirty eight Pounds, three shillings & four
Pence for Balance of his Acct
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Hugh Hopewell six
Pounds, fifteen shillings, for Boatage.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Jas Tilghman Esqr
twenty one Pounds, fourteen shillings for 31 Day's Attend" in
Council of Safety.
Adjd 'till next Day 10 o'Clock.

[J. B. Morris to Council.]

Baltimore 29th August 1776.
Gentlemen. I was requested by Capt Nicholson to procure
a vessel to go to James River for a load of coal. I have
accordingly for that purpose made a verbal agreement with
Capt Johnson of the schooner Sally & Polly; he says she will
carry about 2000 Bushells of grain, if so, he is to receive
twenty five shillings per day, he victualling & manning her.
I have referred him to you for orders. Capt Nicholson also
sent down the 27th Inst two other small vessels at 12/6 pr day
each with the schooner Revolution.
I am Gentlemen with the greatest respect,

Friday Augt 30th 1776

Council met. Present as on yesterday.
Ordered That Western shore Treasurer pay to Danl Rich-
ardson twenty Pounds, for Boatage.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Majr John Cradock
twenty five Pounds for Pay & Subsist.
Ordered That said Treasurer pay to Wm Thomas four
Pounds, ten shillings for Boatage.
