Sir. I have gone thro' every store in this town & find but
few whole pieces of B. Cloths of the kinds that are wanted.
However if Colo Smallwood would send over an officer, I
think by taking different colours & parts of ps they may pick
up a good deal, but as they do not answer the directions
Mr Harwood gave me, I thought best to decline a purchase
till I heard further about it, there are some Ruggs in town but
they are large & at 20/ Va Cury a piece; Blanketts are not to
be had at all, but there is in one store several ps of woolen, of
a kind between a flannell & kind all cotton that I think would
answer the end, The 2 casks of Medicine you'll be pleased to
receive & send a Rect for them. I am sir yr most obt Servt
Rd Hooe.
I have sent a Memo of such woolens as are to be had. Be
pleased to write Colo Smallwood that I will purchase them up
& pay the cash for them if I can have orders directly.
