From the Cliffs
These are to certify all persons whatsoever that the late
feares and disturbances raised concerning nine thousand
Indians French and papists landed at the mouth of patuxen is
utterly false and was onely a wicked report raised as wee are
well satisfied by some evil minded persons onely to make dis-
sention in this province And this wee can assure that within
all this province and the heads of all Rivers where dilligent
search hath been made for Indians there is none to be found
more than some of our owne neighbour Indians in their peace-
able manner and wee doe further assure you that the Inhab-
itants of these Counties on the westerne shoare are very well
satisfied that there was nor is noe designe of any plott Con-
trivance or Conspiracy by any now in Authority against any
Inhabitants of this Province.
