Maryland, whereupon my Lord Baltemore prcmiseth to obey
any orders he shall receive from the Board.
And on the 26th the following letter from the Councill
inclosing the Form of a Proclamation for proclaiming the King
and Queen in Maryland together with a Copy of the Oath
appointed by Act of Parliament to be taken instead of the
Oath's of Allegiance and supremacy are delivered to his Lord-
ship.
After our very hearty comendations
Whereas William and Mary Prince and Princess of Orange
have with the consent and at the desire of the Lords Spiritual
and Temporal and Commons assembled at Westminister been
proclaimed King and Queen of England France and Ireland
and of the Territories and Dominions thereunto appertaining
wee have thought fitt hereby to signify the same unto your
Lordship with directions that with the assistance of the Councill
and Inhabitants of Maryland, You proclaim their most sacred
Majesty's according to the Form here inclosed with the
solemnities and ceremonies requisit on the like occasion as
also that your Lordship do give directions that the Oaths here-
with sent you be taken by all persons of whom the Oathes of
Allegiance and supremacy or either of them might heretofore
have been required And that the said Oathes of Allegiance
and supremacy be sett aside and abrogated within your Pro-
priety And so wee bid your Lordships very heartily farewell
from the Councill Chamber at Whitehall the 19th day of Feb-
ruary 1688/9.

A Proclamation for the Province of Maryland.

Whereas William and Mary Prince and Princess of Orange,
have with the Consent and at the desire of the Lords Spiritual
and Temporal and Commons assembled at Westminister been
Proclaimed King and Queen of England, France and Ireland
and of the dominions and territories thereunto belonging.
Wee therefore the Proprietor and Councill together with the
Principall Officers and Inhabitants of this Colony and Planta-
tion of Maryland do hereby with one full voice and consent of
tongue and heart publish and proclaim William and Mary
Prince and Princess of Orange to be King and Queen of Eng-
land, France and Ireland defenders of the Faith and supreme
Lord and Lady of their Majesty's Province of Maryland and of
all other the Territories and Dominions to the Crown of Eng-
land belonging to whom wee do acknowledge all Faith and
True allegiance with all hearty and humble affection, beseeching
