The present will be delivered your Lordsp by the honble Coll

Thomas Taylor one of the Gentlemen of his Lordsps Council
now bound for England on board the ship Baltemore Capt
Samuell Philips Comander his Lordsp Admirall of Maryland
under whose Conduct wee have this day ordered to sayle all
the shipps at present ready in this province being in number
a list whereof goes herewith Enclosed to your Lordsp and as
fast as any ships doe or can get ready whereby to fall downe
to poynt Comfort by the first weeke in March wee shall and will
dispatch with what speed possible in order to Encrease the
fleete the severall Comanders have been desirous of dispatch
and pray seeing they cannot goe under at least 20 in a fleete
that so soone as said number are compleate they may be per-
mitted to sayle from poynt Comfort which lyes wholly in yr

Lordsps brest to doe therein as to yr Lordsp shall seeme meete
For our parts wee wish them as quick dispatch as they doe
themselves soe farr forth as it may Consist with his Maties
comands and the peoples safety being at present whats offered

Esqes present

Whereas there has been severall Complaints made by the
Inhabitants of Sumerset County as also by severall Masters of
shipps for the great want of a naval officer in the said county
according to Act in that case provided.

Ordered that the honble Coll Henry Darnall his Lordsps
treasurer and navall officer of this province doe depute con-
stitute and appoynt a navall officer for officiateing in the
clearing and entering all shipps and sloopes etc under him in
his County of Somerset aforesaid first taking good and suf-
ficient security of the person soe appoynted for his Lordsp use

Ordered then that the Honble the Secryes doe issue forth
commisions and Ded: potest for the County of Somerset
Nominateing the same as in the last Commissions.
