place appoynted in each County for the solemnizing the birth
of the prince aforesaid. And also that all Masters of shippes or
vessells in each river creeke or harbour in this province on the
dayes aforesaid spread their flaggs discharge their cannons &
give all other demonstrations of joy they are capable of Also
it is comanded and required That all persons whatsoever as
well masters as servants and slaves on those dayes abstaine
from all bodily labour. And lastly to the end that all
persons may be put in mind of their duty herein Wee doe
comand the respective sheriffs of the severall Counties within
this province That they and every of them doe forthwith cause
this our proclamation to be publickly and distinctly read and
proclaymed at their severall Court houses churches chappells
and other publick places in their severall Counties that all per-
sons may take notice thereof and give due obedience there-
unto Given &c.

To the Kings most Excellent Matie
The humble and congratulatory address of your
Maties most Loyall Subjects the Deputy Leiuls principall
Officers Civil and Millitary and other the Inhabitants
of your Maties province of Maryland under the Gov-
ernmt of the Rt Honble Charles Lord Baltimore etc by
whose hands the same most humbly presented.
Dread soveraigne
We cannot sufficiently adore and praize the divine good-
nesse who hath not onely been graciously pleased to place
your sacred Matie our onely rightfull lawfull leige lord and
soveraigne upon the throne of your Royall progenitors (the
malignity of your Enemies notwithstanding) but more ines-
timable and unspeakable blessings are hereby poured upon us
by your August Government and now in a more especial man-
ner (To make bold with the words of the Rt honoble the Lords
of your Maties most honble privy Council) in that it hath pleased
Almighty God to blesse your Majtie and your Royall Consort
the Queen with the birth of a hopefull sonne and your Matie
Kingdomes and Dominions with a Gracious prince.
In consideration whereof albeit wee your Maties most loyall
and faithfull subjects soe soone as wee. received this happy
newes Endeavoured to Celebrate the same with all possible

joy and acclamation by open proclamations and other demon-
stracons of thanks and praize to Almighty God and of love and
Zeale to your most Excellent Majtie we were capable of. Yet as
wee cannot doe too often soe we have presumed by this meanes
and way further to expresse our unfeigned and hearty thanks
to the divine province for this soe greate a blessing. And with
all dutiful allegiance cordially to Congratulate your Sacred
