our said Magistrates ministers and Officers whatsoever within
our said province to forbeare the tendring to such person or
persons giving such security as aforesaid the Accustomed
Oath or oathes of probate of will or takeing out of Adminis-
trations Given at London the three and twentieth day oi Iuly
in the Thirteenth year of our Dominion Annoq Dni one thou-
sand six hundred eighty and eight under the greate seale of
our said province of Maryland.

Proclamation upon the birth of the prince
By the Deputy Lieuts a proclamation.
Whereas His Lordsp the Rt Honoble Lord propry upon the
tenth day of Iune last past did receive a letter from the Right
HonMe the Lords of his Majties most honoble privy Council
thereby intimateing to his Lordsp that it haveing pleased
Almighty God about Tenne of the clock of the morning of the
same day to blesse his Majtie and his Royall consort the Queen
with the birth of a Hopefull sonne and his Majties kingdoms
and dominions with a prince and that his Matie had Com-
manded their honors to signify the same to his Lordship and
to pray and require his Lordsp to cause notice thereof to be
forthwith given by proclamacon throughout his Maties plantacon
under his Lordsps Government and thereby to appoynt such
dayes as well for a solemne thanksgiving to Almighty God for
this sot; Inestimable a blessing as for such other expressions of
publick rejoyceing suitable to this greate occasion as his Lordsp
should judge fitt And his Lordsp haveing thereupon layd his
Commands upon us forthwith to issue out proclamacons
accordingly. Wee the Deputy Leiuts of his Lordsps province
as well in obedience to the Commands and orders aforesaid as
to testify our unfeigned and hearty thanks to the devine prov-
idence for soe ineffable a bounty have thought fit and doe
hereby with the Advice of his Lordsps Council Order publish
and declare That day of for the City and
County of St Maries and the first day of November next all
over the rest of the province in each County be set apart as
dayes of publick praize and thanksgiving to Almighty God for
the aforementioned inestimable blessing received from his
divine Matie And wee doe hereby strictly charge and comand
that all and every person and persons whatsoever inhabiting
within this province shall upon the same dayes resort with dil-
igence to the most convenient place in each County to be
appointed by the Sheriffe to declare and demonstrate their
joy and thanksgiving for this great blessing And the sheriffs

officers either of foote or horse that they bring their company
