St Maries to the honble Coll William Digges or to either of
them as shall respectively be found most convenient And the
severall cheife officers of horse and foote in each County are
hereby commanded to send downe with the aforesaid Armes a
list of all Commissionate Officers in each of their said Counties
and of all vacancies of Comissionate officers places that are
wanting in each County by death absence or otherwise To the
intent the Government may take care to Create new Officers
to supply the said vacant places or offices. Lastly the said

severall sheriffs are forthwith to make publick proclamacon
hereof in the most convenient places of the severall Counties
as they will answer the contrary at their perill. Given at the
Council Chamber at St Maries the 19th day of Ianuary In the
14th yeare of the Dominion of the Rt Honble Charles etc
Annoque 1688.

Complaint being made to this board by John Watkins sonne
of Cornelius Watkins of Patuxon and the said Cornelius
came also before this board who having heard the complaint
the boy made against his father did not take him for his child
This board then ask't the said Cornelius Watkins whether
he tooke him for his lawful begorten sonne who said there
was reasons to persuade the contrary but yet he did believe
he was his owne sonne.
Ordered that he take him home and that he doe not abuse
him but use him as a Child ought to be used and give him
education and mainteyance according to his Estate and abillity.

The Lord Baltemore's dispensation to the Quakers
ab' oathes of Exrs and admrs
C: Baltemore. Charles absolute Lord and propriery of the
province of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore etc.
Whereas many Ingenious and industrious people called
Quakers being desirous to plant themselves and their Fam-
ilies in our said province of Maryland and to submit to the
Lawes and Government thereof as farr as in Conscience they
can doe therefore for the good of our said province and
Encouragement of the said persons to come and plant therein
Hereby order and command all our Magistrates ministers and
officers whatsoever within our said province upon probate of
will or takeing out of Administrations by any such person or
persons to take sufficient security from them to Answer the
Right and Interest that any other person or persons shall
thereafter appear to have to the lands goods Chattells or
Estate in or by such will or administration pretended to be
settled vested or disposed of and upon such sufficient security
given as aforesaid wee doe straightly charge and command ail
