May it please your Excellency
In answer to Mr LLewellins Letter have inserted the
Commsrs Names as well as the Grand Jurors who preferred
the petition against Mr Green & Mr Barkstead

Decemr 19th 1692 p Ino West Cler Cur Comit. Som:

Mr Francis Ienkins the first of the Commissioners named
makes his appearance & alledgeth that he never was sum-
moned in Excuse for not appearing before—
Mr Stephen Luff Sheriff of Somerset County called in &
Examined thereof saith that never any prsecept to that pur-
pose Came to his hands
However the said Francis Ienkins further humbly offereth
himself in mitigation of the crime laid to their charge &
alledgeth that it never was the design intent or inclination
in the least of that Court to put any Affront upon or shew
any disrespect to his Excellencys Commission & if any such
Construction can be made of their Letter or proceedings it
must of necessity be the mistake or misapprehension of the
Clerk in drawing it
Iohn LLewellin Clerk of the Council being Interrogated &
affirming that according to the order of this Board Summons
were sent out & directed to Mr Iohn West Clerk of Somerset
County Court & it appearing to this Board that the same had
been Conceal'd & not duly served Ordered that Summons
issue for the said West to appear here next Council day to
Answer his Contempt
The honble Collo Nea Blakiston & Thomas Tench Esqr
having pursuant to the Order of this Board yesterday made
