To the honble Provincial Court now sitting
The humble Petition of Iohn Currey
humbly sheweth
That forasmuch as your Honours petr being Summoned to
the last Provincial Court as an Evidence against one Daniel
Fox who was committed upon Suspition of robbing a Store in
Calvert County & your Honours poor petr being at that time
in a bad Condition to leave his habitation for that his Children
being very young & tender, & wife dangerously sick & liker
to Dye then Live nevertheless your Honours petitioner not
regarding the aforesaid reasons or hinderances did according
to his praecept make his appearance at the said Court where
he himself & some others did petition the honble Court for
a dispatch for the foregoing Reasons which was granted in
order to your Honours petitioner being Called Sworn & sent
to from the Bar to the Grand Iury & by them examined which

was only a relation by hear say Nothing upon his own knowl-
edge which being related to the full of what he heard Mr
Philip Lynes foreman of the Grand Iury who told your Hon.
ours petr if that be all you have to say you may go about your
Business upon which your Honours petitioner not In the least
Reflecting nor thinking of any further Occasion of him Simply
& ignorantly went home after which your Honours petitioner
being wanted at the Bar in the Tryal though he knew nothing
material as above of the aforesaid Prisoner your Honours
poor petitioner is fined ten pounds Sterl which is more then
all his Substance is worth to maintain a wife & two Small
Children wherefore your Honours petitioner most humbly
prays your Honours serious Consideration as well as the inca-
pacity of your Honours poor Petitioners in understanding the
Consequence of the Affair then in hand as also of his Inability
of paying the said Fine after which Consideration of your
Honours your poor and needy petitioner most humbly prays
that your Honours will be pleased to remit the aforesaid Fine
And your Honours poor Petitioner as in
duty bound shall Ever pray &ca

prayer of the petitioner

To his Excellency & the honble Council
The humble petition of Sarah Reynolds
Sheweth
That whereas your humble Petitioner have been very much
abused by one Thomas Hinton on the Cliffs, Your Petitioner
had 100 Acres of Land & was in Debt the said Hinton bar-
gained with your Petitioner for the said Land Conditionally
