Mr Harris
Yours of the 13th February last to his Excellency the Gov-
ernor he hath been pleased this day to Communicate to the
Board wherein we take notice of the enchroachment of some
Foreign Indians upon the Frontiers of the Province and their
insolent Carriage among the Inhabitants have Consulted of the
most proper expedient to redress the same and to prevent the
like or worse for the future as by the Bearer Mr Thos Blake
you will be more fully informed, we must entreat your assist-
ance and the rest of the Gentlemen in Commission there for
your advice and Directions to him and Coll Herman in the
management of the Commissions to them directed and the
Powers & Authoritys therein granted you are also desired to
use your best endeavours to Inform your self and Conse-
quently those two Gentlemen with the true nature nation and
quality of those Indians their Business and Pretences there in
those Parts, and their Behaviour since their Coming and also
to procure and provide them with such Evidences an,d testi-

monies as may be had to Prove the same and in all things to
aid and assist them what you Can with your Councill & Advice

This day his Excellency the Governor was pleased to pro-
duce and Communicate to this Board your several Letters to
him Concerning those Indians newly seated at the head of the
Bay with an exact Accot of 800 more of the same Sort there
expected we take notice of your apprehensions of them and
your Care to be Rightly Informed therein we have consulted
of the most Proper measures to be taken in such an Emer-
gency as by the Bearer you will be more fully acquainted to
whom and Coll Herman we desire your Advice and assistance
with other Gentlemen in the management of the Commission
& Instructions to them given and granted; You are also
desired to send down with them Robert Drury whose Deposi-
tion we have and what other Evidences & testimonies may be
had concerning those Indians the Frenchman, and their
behaviour since they arrived in those Parts and what else may
be necessary to any further discovery for their Majestys Service
