transmitted to our Trusty and Welbeloved Chudleigh Brook
Esqre our Receiver and Collector of our Revenue in New York
or to our Receiver or Collector of our Revenue there for the
time being to be employed for our Service against the French
in those parts in such manner as shall be directed by the Gov-
ernor or Commander in Chief of our said Province for the
time being And the receipt of the said Chudleigh Brook or of
our Receiver or Collector of our Revenue of New York for
the time being shall be to all whom it may concern a sufficient
discharge for the same.
Given at our Court at Whitehall the first day of March
1692/3 in the fifth year of our Reign.

The Kings most Excellent Majesty in Councill

The Right Honble the Lords of the Committee of Trade and
Plantation having humbly reported to his Majesty that they
had considered the Petition of Sr Thomas Lawrence Secretary
of Maryland complaining of hardships he lyes under in rela-
tion to his office and that their Lordships having examined
the same are humbly of opinion that as to the security
demanded of him for the due execution of his office he do give
his own personal security in one thousand pounds and that
each of the ten County Clerks do give 100l security for the
due performance of their respective places.
That the Act for regulating of Ordinaries whereby the
benefitt of Lycences for Ordinaries formerly belonging to the
Secretary is given to the Governor may be disallowed by His
Majesty
That the Order of the Governor and Councill of Maryland
of the 17th of August last by which the Chancery that have
been always issuable out of the Secretaries Office are ap-
pointed to be issued out of the Chancery and the fees there
to be paid to the Chancellor may be set aside and the benefit
of issuing those Writts do remain to the Secry according to
the Act of Assembly.
That their Lordsps do not find cause for any alteration in
reference to the fees of the Naval Officr as at present settled
by an Act of Assembly in consideration of the Trust reposed
in the Governor for the execution of that office.
His Majesty in Councill is pleased to approve of the said
Report and to order as it is hereby ordered that the said Sir
