The Right Honble the Lords of the Committee for Trade
and Plantations having this day laid before His Majesty in
Councill a Report from Sir Thomas Trevor Knight their
Majtys Solicitor Genefall upon the several demands of the
Lord Baltemore as Lord Proprietary of their Majesty's Prov-
ince of Maryland which having been this day read at the
Board His Majesty was pleased to approve of the said Report
and did order as it is hereby ordered that the Act lately past
in Maryland for the fourtenth pence tunnage be and it is
hereby set aside and disallowed and that the Lord Baltemore
be permitted without any disturbance or interruption to collect
and receive by such person or persons as he shall thereunto
authorize and appoint the said duty of fourteen pence per: tun
for Port duties or Anchorage for his own use of Right
belonging to him by Law as the Proprietor of the said Prov-
ince and as well Coll: Copley their Majestys present Governor
as the Lord Baltemore and all others whom it may concern are
to take notice of His Majesty's Pleasure hereby signified and
to comply with the several particulars of the said Report.

the 26th day of February 1692/3

Upon the Petition of Sir Thomas Lawrence Secretary of
Maryland referred to the Committee by His Majesty's Order
in Councill of the 26th of January last complaining that by an
Act lately past in the Assembly of Maryland the yearly income
of clearing ships which by Law has belonged to the Secretary
there from the year 1622 to 1676. is now given to the Gov-
ernour—That by another Act for regulating Ordinaries the
benefit of Lycences which for 15. years past belonged to the
Secretary is likewise given to the Governour. That notwith-
standing the Secretarys Fees have been confirmed by a late
Act of Assembly in the same manner they have stood for
many years the Governour by an Order of Councill has
appointed that Chancery Writts which have been always
issuable out of the Secretaries Office should thenceforth issue
out of the Chancery and the Fees to be paid to the Chancellor.
And that he is referred to the Assembly touching two thou-
sand pounds security the Governour and Councill have thought
fitt he should enter into for the due performance of his Office.
Their Lordships having examined the whole matter it appears
to the Committee that by divers Acts of the Assembly before
the year 1676. several Fees were allowed to the Secretary for
the clearing of ships trading to Maryland but that after that
