out of this Province soon after prevented would have been
more Effectually taken notice of by the Government and he
himself secured till his Majestys Pleasure should be known
towards him upon his Return back he privately passed
through the Province visiting none but such Persons as were
of his own stamp and frequently in their Company drinking a
health to the Man that should have his Mare again a by word
used by the dissafected to signify King Iames's Return again
to the Crowne which by that means they endeavour to succour

and revive the hopes of in one another and promise to them-
selves to see Effected by May day next at furthest he is a
Person in fine greviously troublesome & vexatiously turbulent
to all good People and Places where he Comes wholly and
altogether led and swayed by his own Interest & avaritious
inclinations without having any the least regard or Respect to
their Majestys Service and the duty of his Place sometimes
causlesly seizing and letigiously prosecuting and molesting
some of their Majestys good Subjects meerly for revenge or
hopes of Gain upon a composition, and connivingly Com-
pounding with others for a small matter though never so
apperently guilty and obnoxious to great Penaltys for breach
of the Laws to their Majestys no small Damage and Injury as
p the other inclosed Copys may also appear to your Lordships
which by our next we shall be able we doubt not to strengthen
and confirm with many more of the same Nature such Officers
as we humbly conceive are very grievous and burdensom to
the Subject so we are certain they can never advance or pro-
mote their Majestys Service and Interest and therefore as
such we held ourselves in duty bound to represent them to
your Lordships for your Information we humbly pray your
Lordships candid Constructions hereof and beg pardon (if out
of our zeal to their Majestys Service only we have been too
tedious and prolix and make bold to subscribe our selves in all
Truth we are
