I Henry Bonner the Deponent being at the house of Mr
Philip Lynes in the City of St Marys aforesaid came in
Sr Thomas Lawrence Secretary of Maryland and the said Sr
Thos understanding the said Depont was Clerk of Ann Arun-
dell County he the said Sr Thomas walked out with an-
other Gentleman with him and having some conference
about the Clerks place of Ann Arundell County he the said
SrThomas told me that if I would Officiate under that Gentle-
man as Deputy Clerk of Ann Arundll County he the said
Sr Thomas Lawrence would allow me one half fees which I
refused and Sr Thomas Lawrence about the Corner of Van-
sweeringens Garden fence answered me since you will not
accept this Offer I have done with you so we parted and
further saith not H. Bonner
