To his Excellency the Captain Generall and the
honourable their Majestys Councill
The petition of Charles Iames
most humbly sheweth
That whereas many misprisions have been committed by
Surveyors formerly in this Province both in courses and dis-
tances, through whose neglect and Ignorance in the pursuance
of the trust reposed in them many inconveniences happen to
the Inhabitants of this Province and whereas your Petitioner
hath held some Land by Patent from the Lord Proprietor
these thirty Years, which through the ignorance of the Sur-
veyor some Errors have been committed
Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that a warrant of
resurvey may be granted to your Petitioner according to the
ancient Limits and Bounds of the said Land, that if any Sur-
plusage do appear within the said ancient limits and bounds,
it may be returned and redound to the use of your Petitioner
And your Petitioner as in duty bound shall
ever pray &ca
to the foregoing petition was annexed the foll paper of the
bounds of the land mentioned in the petition as foll (vizt)
Beginning at a Marked Oak in a neck between two branches
& running from thence South West Southerly untill it shall
intersect the branch of a Creeke called charne Creeke, from
thence runng up a long the said branch unto a marked white Oak
standing at the head of the said branch from thence Running
along North East untill it shall intersect a South east Line
drawn from the fint bounded tree bounded on the said inter-
section, and running back North West unto the said fint
bounded tree

The petition granted and ordered that warrant of Resurvey
issue forth of the land Office as is prayed
The Clerk of the Councill produces to the Board a Cat-
alogue of such fees as are usually incident to his Office, and
prays an order for the allowance thereof for the future, and
that he may be permitted legally to demand and receive the
same as follows (vizt)
