Loyalty integrity and circumspection I have ordained consti-
tuted & appointed and by these Presents do ordain constitute
and appoint you the said Edward James to be ranger of and
in Kent County aforesaid for the taking up of all such wild
Cattle horses and hogs as by Act of Assembly of this Province
are adjudgd and allowed to be Strays belonging to and the
just right of their Majestys or the Lord of the Soil, or their
Majestys Governr or other Person legally qualified to receive
the same, which you are hereby authorised and empowred to
hunt for and take up in any part of the Forrest within the
said County not offering or presuming to do any Violence
injury or damage to any of the Inhabitants in their Stocks
under pretence hereof, and Reserving to yourself one third
Part of the full Perquisitts and Profitts hereby accruing and to
be accountable to me for the Remainder thereof by Rendring
a true and just accot of every Particular Beast or Hog you
shall by Virtue hereof legally take up as afd & carrying before
the next Magistrate every horse You shall also take up and

marking with the Mark DCL branded on the Buttock Every

first & second Horse You shall take up as aforesaid and
reserve the third to your self for your Care and pains therein
this Commission to endure during pleasure Given under my
hand and Seal this 14th day of Octr in the fourth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord and Lady King William and
Queen Mary &ca Anno Domini 1692 :

To his Excellency the Governor and his honble Councill
The humble petition of William Taylard
humbly sheweth
That your Petitioner has due to him out of the Land Office
three severall warrants for 500 Acres a Piece which never was
made use of, one of the said warrants remaining on record, for
which caution has been given and Satisfied another granted
your Petitioner by an order of the Lord Baltemores Councill
the third due to your Petitioner by a reassignment from
Elizabeth Baker which said warrants and order of Councill
your Petitioner being ready to produce, and make oath that the
same was never yet made use of by himself or any other, your
Petitioner therefore humbly prays an Order of this Honourable
board that the same warrants may be renewed to him
And your petitioner shall pray &ca

The petition granted and ordered that precept issue to the
Secrys Office for the renewmt of the said warrants as is prayed
