Your Petitioner humbly prays the especial order of this
honourable Board for a warrant of resurvey to lay out the
same again according to the first intended and designed
meetes and bounds thereof whereby your Petitioner may be
ascertained of his due and just right without intrenching upon
any other former or more ancient survey or Land reserved by
his Lordship the Lord Baltemore And shall pray &ca

The petition granted and Ordered that warrant of Resurvey
issue out of the Secrys Office according to the prayer of the
Petitioner

To his Excellency the Captain Generall &ca &
the honble Councill
The petition of Edward Iames
humbly Sheweth
That your Petitioner an Inhabitant of Kent County highly
sensible of the many gross and notorious abuses put upon the
Inhabitants of this Province by severall Persons call'd Rangers,
who without Leave or License presume to hunt in the Forrest
for wild cattle and Horses and under that Pretence drive away
take up and sell in other remote parts severall Horses &ca
properly belonging to the Inhabitants having killed two of
your Petitioners mares, your petitioner being a poor man but

just and honest as his Neighbours can testify, and will (he
doubts not) give him that Character he having well and faith-
fully behaved himself to the Government and their Majestys
Interest, he humbly prays your Honour will confer on him the
place and Office of Ranger of the County aforesaid upon such
conditions and terms as the same is or hath been granted to
others And shall pray &ca

The Petitioner giving Bond with good Security for his good
Behaviour and faithfull management of the said Office and by
producing to the next Majistrate every Cattle Horse &ca he
shall take up by Virtue thereof for his cognizance to mark and
record the Petition is granted and commission issued accord-
ingly (vizt)
