their Majestys Service but after the two Browns Ships was out
at Sea, and Coll Coursey and Capt Hinson Passengers in the
said Perry Browns Ship, they made many Visits, sometimes on
Board one Ship and the other, and Coursey Hinson, Lillingston,
Lingan with Mr Perry Brown and some others in the said ship
did all agree and resolve to make a Private Search in the said
ship to find out the said Packet of Letters and if they could by
any ways find them out, was all agreed to break them open,
and see the Contents of what was in them, but could not tell
whither the said Letters was found or not, no otherwise then
that he did hear the said Ricand say that such a Packet of
Letters had been taken out of his chest

The said Benjamin Ricand being called in and examined
saith that he did receive a large Letter at Plymouth, directed
to the Government here, which he promised to deliver at his
arrivall here to Mr Andrew Abington, but when he was about
half Seas over he lost rt, it was taken out of his chest, that
two days before he mist it, one Edward Felks desired to see
the Superscription which he shewed him and put the Letter
up again but never saw it after
Edward Felks called and examined whither he knows any
thing of the said Letter which he desired to see and it was
shewed him but two days before it was lost acknowledges
that he did see the said Letter, but knows not what after-
wards became of it—

Information being giving against Major Edward Dorsey for
severall mutinous and seditious speeches by him spoken on
Board Captn Wm Hills Ship in presence of Mr Thomas Corn-
wall and several others then on board, the said Cornwall is
called in and desired to acquaint the Board with what then
passed between the said Dorsey and the said Captain Hill in
relation to the Premises, he saith that severall high words
passed between them which moved him the said Cornwall to
retort something by way of reprimand to the said Dorsey but
what the words positively were he cannot truly call to mind
was also read some Deposition of Thomas Dodd, Henry
Bird and Francis Searson Chyrurgeon concerning the said
words—all referred to further consideration
