Ordered that a Letter be writ to the Governor of Virginia
requesting his favour in causing the said Persons Boats and

Goods to be delivered to the said John Kemble who is sent

Liber K.

on purpose with a Boat and four able Hands well armed to
receive and convey them hither to the Provll Court now sitting
at Saint Maries &ca as follows Vizt

St Marys in Maryland September 30th 1692
Sr
Providence having lately detected and brought to Light a
horrid murder some time since committed upon the Body of
one Robt Kemble an Inhabitant of this Province by Abigail
his wife, one William Luffman (who hath since intermarried
the said Abigail) and Jack a Negro Man slave belonging to
the said Kemble with other confederates, some of which are
now taken and here in custody, and being also certainly
informed that the said Luffman, his wife and the Negro afore-
said the principal Actors therein, together with a Negro
woman named Sue and a Negro Child, and English Boy
named Peter, with a Boat also and several other Goods of the
said Kembles Estate are apprehended Seized and Secured in
the custody of one Mr Burrows high Sheriff of Princes Anns
County in Virginia under your Government I have sent
thither a Boat and four able Hands well armed under the
conduct of Iohn Kemble the Brother of the Person murdered
to receive and convey hither the said Criminalls to our Prov"
Court now sitting in order whereunto and the better to effect
the same I am to request the favour of your Particular Orders
to the said Sheriff, and other Officers civill and Military and
others the Inhabitants in those Parts to aid and assist the said
Iohn Kemble, and contribute what in them lyes as well to the
safe delivery of the said Criminals and the severall Persons
aforesaid to the care Custody and charge of the said Kemble,
as also to give and afford him all necessary aid and assistance
in the safe guarding Passage and conveyance through the
Limits of your Government and that the Boat and other
Goods and traffick taken with them may be also delivered
into the hands of the said Iohn Kemble to whom of right they
do belong as heir and Admr of his murdered Brother: the bar-
barity of the murder you will perceive by the tenor of the
Depositions which for your better Satisfaction I have caused
to be copied and inclosed sent you it calls aloud for Iustice
and will I doubt not be a sufficient motive to obtain your
contribution thereunto, assuring you of all fair and ready
complyance from hence in any thing of the like nature or
otherwise tending to their Majstys Service, the safety of their
Subjects and a good correspondency between the two Gov-
