Liber K.

Upon further consideration had of the French Prisoner, it is
Ordered that he be taken from the Sheriff of Ann Arundell
County in whose Custody he at Present is and committed
back into the Custody of the Sheriff of Saint Maries County,
from whence he came, there to remain safely and closely con-
fined, till further Orders, and such time as may have further
advice concerning those naked Indians that may be the better
able to give an Accot thereof to the neighbouring Governmts
Tequassino One of the Great Men Indians on the Eastern
Shore, complains and shews to the Board here, that whereas
he had sold or Barter'd away a Horse with an english man in
Cabbin Creek, his Name he knows not, nor can describe him
to the Satisfaction of the Board for some certain Number of
Matchcoats eight whereof were behind and yet unpaid which
the said Man refuses to pay and satisfy to him according to
agreement, he prays his Excellencys Order to Compel him
thereunto
so soon as the Partys name coud be known or discovered
he may have an Order according to his request
Afterwards it being suggested and made appear to the
Board here by circumstances & such descriptions as the said
Tequassino coud give, of the Person accused he obtaind and
had granted to him this following

16 August 1693 Maryland ss.
Ordered that the Sheriff of Dorset County forthwith upon
Receipt hereof apprehend and take into his Custody the body
of Henry Thomas, if he shall be found in his Bailywick, and
him safely to keep so as to have him immediately before the
next Majistrate to the place were he shall be found, to answer
the complaint of Tequassino one of the eastern shore Indians
concerning eight Matchcoats which to him he oweth, and from
him he unjustly detaineth, and the said Majistrate is desired
and hereby Ordered to hear and determine the same and to
do therein what to Law and Iustice appertaineth

These

Upon a Petition preferred to this Board by Robert Rogers
against Mr Richard Beard of this County for not performing
of Conditions upon a Contract between them made for the
Petitioners seating for him the said Beard a plantation, which
in his Part he hath Complyed with, it is the opinion of this
Board & Ordered that the Petitioner apply himself to the Law
where if he will he hath his proper Remedy
