To his Excellency Lionel Copley Esqr Captain Generall and

Governor in chief In and over the Province and Territory of
Maryland
The humble Petition of Henry ffearme
Sheweth
That in the Year 1681 your Petitioner loaded his Ship in
Potuxen River, and gave a Bill of Exco to the Lord of Balti-
more to pay him 20£ Sterl in England for the duty of 200
hhds of Tobacco at 2s p hhd, Iohn Evans Planter in the
said River, ships aboard 10 hhds of Tobacco, and was to
go Passenger with me for Ireland, and was to pay Fourty
Shillings p hhd Freight Evans was obliged with me to
see the Bill of Exco paid The Ship being very leaky going
for Ireland was forced by extremity to the West Parts of Ire-
land to save the ship & Lives being in Harbour a Price was
proffered for Tobacco as much as Tobacco was worth in Ire-
land, I perswaded the aforesaid Iohn Evans to make sale of
his Tobacco and not to run any more Risk he sold his
Tobacco and I gave him the Freight of the Tobacco and he

then going for England I advised him to see if the Bill of
Exco was not paid that he should pay the Lords Agent himself
with that 20 l Freight, thirty days after John Evans parted
from me by mischance I lost my Ship and Goods before I
cou'd attain to the City of Cork being my Port of Discharge
the Ship and Goods being wholly my own lost to the Value of
1500l Sterling, I am arrested by Francis Collier that married
Ino Evans's Widow, I have been prisoner two months, I have
been sick Six Months, and am still in a weak Condition, that
if I Live I am to appear at the Provinciall Court, I am about
70 Years of Age Poor and a stranger in the Country, my
humble request is that your Excellency be pleased that
Frances Collier may choose 2 Men, and my self Choose 2
men, that it may be decided the difference I being sick and
lying at great Charges
I shall ever be bound in Duty to pray

The Petitioner if he will qualify himself by Oath according
to law may be admitted to defend himself in Forma Pauperis

To his Excellency Lionel Copley Esqr Governor in chief
over the Province of Maryland
In all humble The humble Petition of Thomas
manner sheweth Plummer of Ann Arundell County
That your Petitioner hath for these thirty Five Years last
past been an Inhabitant and Liver in the County abovesaid,
during the most of which time he hath had a Wife and divers
Children, and nothing to maintain them with but what through
